Former model and television host Lynda Diaz, is in the intensive care unit of the Clinica Biblica in San Jose, Costa Rica after health complications resulting from a cosmetic surgery.
Diaz, a native from Puerto Rico, but who lived in Costa Rica for over 20 years where she developed her career, is now 46 years of age and has been living in Miami, Florida for the past few years.
Once one of the most popular models in Costa Rica, Diaz commonly travels back to Costa Rica since she owns real estate in the country; she attended the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in the opening night and underwent liposuction surgery on Friday.
According to journalist Rogelio Benavides, friend of the family, Lynda suffered post-surgical complications that have affected her kidney function and that has resulted in her needing dialysis treatment, although she was in critical care, the worst has now passed, and she is evolving and stable.
Diaz also celebrated the wedding of her daughter Nicole earlier in April in Texas. Diaz is the mother of four, Lynda Liz, Nicole, and the twins Gary and Tiffany the last two product of her marriage to millionaire Gary Austin, considered a pioneer of the sportsbook industry in Costa Rica. She often made the tabloids headlines as the center of several scandals.
The College of physicians and surgeons in Costa Rica is investigating the case to determine what caused the complication, if It was related directly to the surgical procedure, a previous condition of the patient or a situation related to the post-surgical care.
