Heavy Rains Caused Issues for Drivers in Different Areas of Costa Rica

Heavy rainfall this Tuesday caused problems for drivers in different areas of the country, particularly in the General Cañas highway which connects Alajuela and San José and some areas of Heredia.

In the General Cañas highway close the Real Cariari Mall the sewer system collapsed and caused the highway to flood which damaged 7 vehicles and of course caused severe transit problems that
extended for hours.

San Antonio de Belén in Heredia was also affected, particularly the area close to “Proyecto Gol” near the Panasonic, an area that presents this same problem every year.

Landslides were reported in Asserí, Desamparados which affected 7 houses.

October is almost here and is the month that registers the most rainfall in Costa Rica, take precautions when driving, especially in areas prone to landslides, watch out for tree branches and overflown rivers.
