A U.S. $400 million project is taking shape in the North of Moín, Limón, Costa Rica at the entrance to the Tortuguero Canals  under the name “Casino City Caribe“.

The tourism project will consist of three hotels with a total 264 rooms, three casinos, 219 apartments, two convention and cultural centres with capacity for 150 people a full service marina and a helipad.

Patti Rao Projects is the name of the developing company that is headed by architect Patti Rao, a native of Vancouver, Canada.

The project is currently in the beginning stages, it has approval of the Matina Municipality and the support of the Costa Rica Tourism Board and the Ministry of Environment, the first stage of the constructions should begin at the beginning of 2019, and during this stage it is expected to generate some 150 jobs.

Rao stated that the location was selected based on the potential of the area and the interest of his associates in investing in Eco-tourism projects with characteristics like the ones present at Tortugero.

“I want to help Limon and feel proud of the project. My goal is to contribute in some way with the development of Costa Rica (…), it was an idea that came to me after my retirement”, commented Rao.

Casino City Caribe is a sustainable project expected to boost the economic development of the Caribbean region.
