The Costa Rica Electricity Institute (ICE) will be auctioning 17 of its properties next August 14 in order to cut expenses and generate additional income.

“These are properties that belong to ICE (13) and the National Power and Light Company (CNFL) (4), selling them will generate income for the companies and savings in operational and maintenance costs”, explained Francisco Garro, Administrative and Financial Corporate Manager.

The list includes seven properties in Tilarán, Guanacaste; another one in Liberia, Guanacaste of 13,000 square meters (3.2 acres) valued in over US $1 million; two properties in the area of Los Santos; two small 250 square meter properties in Hatillo and Sabana Sur, San Jose with a value of close to USD $165,000.00 (both); an 800 square meter lot in San Antonio de Belén,Heredia; a 1400 square meter in Alajuela and a 35,000 square meter property in San Carlos valued in close to $125,000.00 among others.

Out of the 17 properties, 8 of them have base prices under ¢20 million (approximately $35,000.00), all properties are duly registered; the legal cost for the transfer and registration would be the responsibility of the buyers.

Those interested in participating in the auction can check the information provided by ICE and CNFL. The auction will take place August 14 starting at 10 a.m. in the auditorium of the ICE main offices in Sabana Norte.
