At the Regional Museum in San Ramon, province of Alajuela, twenty works of art from the 20^th and 21^st centuries await visitors, who do not have the benefit of knowing either the title or authorship of the works. Visitors to this museum, which is located in a thriving agricultural region of Costa Rica, must investigate the background of the untitled works of art and make their own determination as to provenance and intent.

Sin título / sin autor (No Name, No Author) is an art exhibit that invites visitors to go beyond the traditional museum or gallery experience of simply looking at the exhibit, glancing at the names of the works and learning about the artists. To this end, the visitors are given a packet of informational material as they enter the exhibit, and thus they learn about the logic and artistic intent of the works on display.

Museum curators Daniel Soto Morúa and Bárbara Yáñez Feria designed this exhibit with efficient communication in mind. They feel that some communication strategies such as reading, analysis and comparison are missing from traditional museum exhibits in Costa Rica, and thus they decided to introduce elements of intrigue and learning.

In a news article written by Grettel Rojas Vasquez of the University of Costa Rica, the museum directors in San Ramon are pleased that this exhibit does not try to explain to visitors about what art really is, because that is too complex of an interpretation to offer; the idea is to suggest visitors how they can look at art without having to study it. In other words, this exhibit eschews the academic in favor of the didactic. The modern feel of the works of art, which were created in the last few years, attracts visitors, and the lack of name and authorship evokes human interest. The exhibit can be enjoyed until December 12^th.
