After two days of searching for the kayak guide that was dragged by the current in Manzanillo, Limon on Friday afternoon, the rescue teams of the Costa Rican Red Cross, members of the search and rescue team of the Fire Department, Public Police Force, and air surveillance, had no positive results.
The search covered the area between the rivermouth of the Sixaola River in Gandoca, Sixaola all the way to Punta Mona.
The missing man is 32 years old and his name is Pablo Rodríguez Rojas. He was in the company of two tourists when they were dragged out by the current. The tourists were rescued by locals who spotted them and assisted them on a boat.
Weather conditions and the strong swell in the area have complicated the search.
The search will resume at 6 a.m. Monday, January 7.
