The last Art City Tour of the year will take place November 22 this time the theme is “Night in White: Tour in Augmented Reality” and it will offer 100 activities in 36 spaces.

Art City Tours are free cultural events that take the public in night tours through different emblematic places of San Jose, Costa Rica; museums, galleries, historic buildings, etc . with the objective not only of promoting the visitation of the capital city but also with the purpose of rescuing the art and culture that hides in the city. Tours can be done by bus, bicycle or foot.

The BAC Credomatic route, for example, starts off at the Contemporary Art and Design Museum, then continues to the National Library, the National Costa Rica Museum, the Blue Castle (Congress), the Jade Museum, the Central Bank Museums, Culture Plaza, French Alliance, Amon Cultural House, Eñe Store, Duluoz Book and concludes at Subsuelo.

In the meanwhile the North Route invites the public to go from the Central Bank Museums as a starting point towards the Heritage Center, continuing to Teor/etica, the Movie Center, Talentum Gallery, Amon Solar, El Sub, the National Gallery, the Penitentiary Museum, Estetica Gallery, Red Coffee and concluding at the Steinwoth building.

This last Art City Tour of 2019 is promoted by theFrench Alliance and proposes also an augmented reality tour through the use of the Urumado AR app from French artist Julie Chheng, the idea is for all participants to go in search of “tanukis” hidden in 10 points in San Jose and which come to live in the cell phones. At the end of the tour each participant gets to see which Tanuki spirit represents them.

In addition to these routes there are other alternatives to choose from.

Art City Tour will kick off at 5 p.m. and will extend through 11:30 p.m. It is recommended that those interested in attending check the routes available and the transportation method so that they can take advantage of the time.

The Art City Tour will also have its official party at the Rabbit Hole from 8 p.m. through 2 a.m.

This cultural event will return in February 12, 2020 with its edition “For the love of San Jose”.
