SIGN UP FOR OUR 
Fourteen characters, two actors, two hours. That’s the essence of ¡Que Zambrote! (What a Mess!), a sketch comedy especially written with modern Tico society in mind. This dynamic theater play is acted by experienced actress Rita Campos, who returns to the stage after a hiatus due to maternity leave, and Ricardo Segura, a young newcomer who graduated from the prestigious Conservatortio de Castella. Together, they are part of the MasqueDos Theater Company.
Ms. Campos was last seen onstage in the 2001 comedy “Ticos Prefer Gringas.”
While the play aims to project social commentary and poke fun at the various shortfalls of society in Costa Rica, the content is adequate for all family members. This play started as a corporate entertainment event, and thus it is written in a way that it is hilarious and respectful of the audience, avoiding profanity and salaciousness.
According to a recent review of the play in the sports and entertainment daily Al Dia, the challenge of portraying 14 characters in two hours means that the actors have just 40 seconds between sketches for costume and makeup changes.

- Nuns who enjoy fine dining and dancing
- A dysfunctional married couple
- A Tico genius
- Kitschy and tawdry “polos”
- Vulgar and clueless “pachucos”
- Inefficient government workers
¡Que Zambrote! will play at the Jaco Theater on April 27th and 28th, at 8:00 pm.
