Want to learn how to make a terrarium or how to care for a pet turtle or snake? Have a question about caring for your horse? Or just want some old fashioned fun for the family?

The Coronado Agricultural Fair, now in its 30th year, runs from April 27-30 in the hilly agricultural area northeast of San José.

Featured activities include a Costa Rican snakes exhibit with information on the different species, a demonstration of how to produce biogas on a farm, a terrarium workshop, a dog contest, and talks by experts on horses and large animals. Information on innovative farming techniques will also be showcased and shared.

The event runs Thursday, April 27 – Sunday, April 30 and opens at 8 a.m. each day, with the main activities concentrated after 1 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and organized activities starting around 10 a.m. on the weekend and lasting until about 6 p.m.

Music, dance, and other artistic shows will be interspersed with the agricultural events. So, if you’ve been wanting to check out Coronado, this might be a good weekend to do so, with fun for the whole family.

The event will be held at the Centro Agrícola Cantonal de Coronado (CACC) which is 200 ms north of the Coronado downtown park.

The CACC – Coronado County Agricultural Center – has 650 affiliates whose agri-business initiatives generate hundreds of direct and indirect jobs in the region.
