The Manuel Antonio National Park remains open to the public and receiving the visit of national and foreign tourists.

Even though this past Wednesday the Quepos Health Department notified the Ministry of Environment through the sanitary order number: PC-ARS-A-OS-022-2017 the possibility of the park being closed down in the event that the authorities in charged failed to comply with what is indicated in the order, the Ministry of Environment prepared an appeal that will be filed this week and in which they request the suspension of the order, based in the actions that have been executed since last year and that will continue to be executed this 2017 by the National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC) in the Manuel Antonio National Park.

These actions include, the construction of the main accesses according to what is established in the Law 7600 (Equal Opportunities Law for People with Disabilities), the construction of a universal trail, the maintenance of the wastewater plants, the improvements in the drinking water supply system, the portable restrooms service and the parks’ emergency plan.

The Ministry of Environment and the SINAC will continue to inform the population of the progress done in each of the aspects listed in the sanitary order and the response obtained of the appeal that will be presented in the next few days. / Press Release
