With an investment of $1.5 million USD, McDonald’s opened its first restaurant in the center of Limón, motivated by the opening of the Moín Container Terminal, and the new opportunities in business that this represents for the province.
The opening of the restaurant generated 50 new jobs, it has a total area of 425 square meters (4,575 square ft.) plus the parking area, having a capacity for 150 customers.
The company now operates 65 restaurants in the country and generates close to 2,100 direct jobs. Last year the company also opened another restaurant at Oxígeno Human Playground and it plans to open another one in Concepción de Tres Ríos.
The new restaurant offers a playground for the kids and wifi.
Limón is one of the areas outside the Great Metropolitan Area (GAM) where the Costa Rican Investment Promotion Agency (CINDE) is working on initiatives to attract development through foreign investment.
