MicroPort , a multinational orthopedics company, will establish a new services center in Costa Rica in addition to its current R&D operation for orthopedic medical devices.
The company started operations with 30 people this year and will grow to approximately 70 employees by the end of 2020. MicroPort is located at Oficentro Torre La Sabana part of Improsa SAFI real estate fund.
Currently, the company’s operations are mainly focused on designing instruments for total knee replacements using 3D images for each patient. These designs are sent to the company’s facilities in the United States, where they are manufactured using 3D printers and distributed worldwide. With the new service center, the positive impact on the company’s operations from Costa Rica will be increased.
The services center includes Accounting and Finance, Purchasing, Customer Service, Human Resources, IT and Regulatory Affairs, among others. The R&D center will also support the product development and product update departments.
The company is hiring people with technical or professional studies, English proficiency and experience in medical devices are desired. Teamwork is especially important, both locally as well as with the other countries where the company has operations.
