The National Museum of Costa Rica, in conjunction with the community development associations of the Osa, Palmar and the Diquis Delta region, invite you to the 11th Festival of the Stone Spheres from May 13th to the 15th .

The Annual Festival of the Stone Spheres is a cultural and festive event that celebrated the magnificent National Park of the Stone Spheres of Costa Rica, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

During the days of the festival, the activities will begin at 9:00 AM and will continue until after sundown. For the thorough enjoyment of the public, the activities are free.

The festival will also highlight the amazing biodiversity of the Osa Peninsula. There will be workshops on digital photography and video recording, medicinal plants, protecting cultural heritage, and birdwatching in the region.

Bird watching and botanical tours will be guided by specialists from the National Museum (bring your binoculars), and budding astronomers will get a chance to wake up extra early and watch the sunrise as it aligns with the spheres. There will be live music, dancing, cuisine, family activities, and more.

The Tracopa bus line in San Jose stops at Palmar Norte. They have new, comfortable buses, and the cost of a one way ticket is less than $15.

If you plan on driving to the festival, head southbound on La Costanera until you see the bridge over the Terraba River (the sign is easy to miss in the rain). Turn right on the first exit past that bridge to get to the park.
