New England Patriots’ safety Duron Harmon, who denied entry into Costa Rica on March 23 after airport police found in his luggage 58 grams of marijuana inside a can of iced tea, three pipes with cannabis oil, a THC candy and four glass containers with compressed marijuana that weighed 4.3 grams, expressed his regret through his Instagram account.
The NFL player apologized to his team, friends, fans and his family stating that the incident doesn’t represent who he is and that he was not “(…) committed to do everything within to regain the trust and respect of everyone (…)”.
The New England Patriots had also commented on this incident “We are aware of the situation involving Duron Harmon Friday night in Costa Rica. He has since returned to the U.S. and we are seeking to gain more information. At this time, we have no further update”.
The NFL would likely take actions for a possible violation to their policies, and consider the players’ history; actions could include entering the league’s drug program and being subjected to more frequent testing.
