Flying will be cheaper than bus travel for a few days in Costa Rica. Nature Air, a domestic flight carrier that bills itself as the world’s first carbon-neutral airline, will offer very cheap flights with a couple of promotions during May. These two promotions will be the most inexpensive flights offered in 2012.

The first promotion started two days ago, and will run until Saturday, April 28th at 5:00 pm. It is open to citizens and residents of Costa Rica on domestic flights to and from San Jose to all destinations in the country. Reservations can be made by phone or online, but the flights must be taken from May 1st through June 20th, 2012. The price of each flight is just $1, but it does not include domestic air tariffs that apply to all flights within Costa Rica (airport fees). Current tariffs are 12,500 colones per passenger per flight, 13,500 to the airport in Tamarindo.

The second promotion was announced earlier today by Travel Video News. According to Marketing Director Claire Saylor:

“We’re kicking up our heels for Cinco de Mayo, celebrating the fifth day of the fifth month with a five dollar flight special for five days only.”

“Bargain price aside, when travellers choose to fly with Nature Air they get to experience the country’s beauty from a whole new vantage point, optimize their travel time and take advantage of our in-depth knowledge of the country. We can point out all the secret spots for any traveller’s ultimate adventure, romantic getaway or back to nature experience.”

The Cinco de Mayo promotion will consist of an online promo code that will be divulged on the airline’s website on May 4th, 2012.

Nature Air flies to 13 domestic destinations and two international destinations: Bocas del Toro in Panama and Managua in Nicaragua. As part of their $1 and $5 promotions, Nature Air seeks to highlight getaway spots like Liberia, Puerto Jimenez, Manuel Antonio, and Tamarindo.
