If you are familiar with “El Mercado” (The Market) in Barrio La California, San Jose, a similar concept will be opening doors this December 14 in Barrio Escalante.

The main difference is that El Mercado in La California is geared towards young adults who are looking for not just a place to eat but also a fun bar where they can hang out; El Mercado in Barrio Escalante is targeted to families and those who just want to try different dishes and enjoy a fun time in a family friendly ambiance.

The concept is inspired in the European markets that gather several restaurants; it will offer 9 kiosks where visitors will be able to enjoy artisan pizza, seafood, tacos made with organic and local products, vegetarian food, a brunch restaurant, among others.

El Mercado in Barrio Escalante is located 25 meters south of the Parque Francia, it will operate from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and will also offer bicycle rental and a Distrito Carmen a store with a variety of products all made in Costa Rica.
