The Odyssey 2050 youth oriented climate change film sponsored by the British Embassy and produced by Synchro Studios here in Costa Rica will be making its world premier on September 26th at the Franklin Chang Diaz building of the National Center For Advanced Technology (CeNAT) located in Pavas.

The Odyssey 2050project was declared to be of Public and Cultural Interest last year by Costa Rican president Laura Chinchilla and over the past 3 years the project has motivated thousands of young people in over 60 countries to get involved in facing climate change in new and creative ways.

Some of the best works from young people from around the world are featured in the new film. Another novelty is that former astronaut Dr. Franklin popular TV personalities Chang and Yiyo have acting roles in Odyssey 2050. All three will be attending the Premier, through Dr. Chang may be doing so through a video connection from his Ad Astra Rocket laboratory in Houston.

Just before the screening of the film the Odyssey 2050 Time Capsule will be dedicated. This will be Costa Rica’s first official Time Capsule and will contain messages from young people from Costa Rica and other countries and will be opened and read by young people of 2050.

The capsule which will be on display at the CeNAT, was designed by students of the Costa Rican Technical Institute (TEC) and constructed by the National Learning Institute (INA).
