It is time to pay the marchamo again and if your car is not up to date with Riteve, the annual vehicle inspection, you won’t be able to get your marchamo, you still have time to get the inspection done of course, but take into consideration that as of November 10 prices will be adjusted.

The Public Services Regulatory Agency (ARESEP) approved an adjustment of 35% in Riteve, after more than 12 years without changing the price.

The good news is that this adjustment will be fragmented into three tracts, applicable every six months.

The first adjustment was actually done already in May of this year, and on Friday, November 10, the second adjustment will be applied, the new prices will be:

Motorcycles: ₡8,010.00
Vehicles: ₡12,160.00
Taxis: : ₡13,025.00
Buses: : ₡16,015.00
Small Trucks: ₡12,160.00

The cost for re-inspections (when the car for some reason doesn’t pass the first time) is of 50% of the amounts listed above.

The next adjustment will be done in May of 2018

In theory all vehicles should have Riteve up to date at this time of the year, however, according to the institution there are still over 200,000 vehicles that have not gone through the annual inspection.

Having Riteve is necessary to get the marchamo.

Appointments can be made online at the Riteve website, or by phone at 905-788-0000.
