Clinica Bíblica had already announced an investment of approximately USD $19 million in its new location in Santa Ana which is expected to be ready before the end of 2018 and involves 7,000 square meters of the hospital building and 8,000 square meters for parking lot.
This same medical center has also confirmed the construction of two new clinics, one in Heredia and another one in Tres Ríos within the next five years; the total investment for the Heredia clinic is expected to be of close to USD $17 million while for Tres Ríos there is no estimate yet.
Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Hospital and La Católica Hospital have also announced big investments in the next few years.
The Metropolitan Hospital renovated in 2016 its San José main location and opened two new centers outside the metropolitan area, one in Marina Pez Vela in Quepos and a second one in Cabo Velas, Santa Cruz, Guanacaste; it also acquired the Cancer Center in La Uruca and in January this year they included in their offer a specialized clinic in mental health treatments.
This institution stated in an interview with daily El Financiero that they will be growing their offer with the goal of having a clinic in each province in the next five years; the initial investment the Metropolitan Hospital is of close to USD $1 million in each medical center.
La Católica Hospital in Guadalupe has invested over USD $2 million this year in medical equipment and remodeling of different areas; the strategic goal of this hospital is to become the main medical center for vascular procedures and cardiac catheterization. Additional investments will be made this year in new equipment, the surgery rooms and new facilities.
