Professional skateboarder, philanthropist, and entrepreneur Ryan Sheckler announced through his social media channels that he will be visiting the country March 31st through April 5th as part of The Action Sports Journey (watch video below), with the purpose of building a skatepark in San Rafael, Heredia and beautifying the community.
Sheckler, a native of California, is known not just for his success in the sport of skateboarding in which he debuted as a pro at age 14, but also for his show in MTV “Life of Ryan” which aired for two seasons. The athlete also created the “Sheckler Foundation” in 2008 which helps children and injured action sports athletes.
Sheckler is partnering with We Journey, DivertCity and Red Bull with the purpose of showing the positive influence action sports have in an underserved community. Mural, gardens and skate equipment are part of the plan to provide a healthy space of entertainment for children and teens.
