Los Angeles, May 16 (EFE).– Irish singer Sinead O’Connor, who seemed to have gone missing, has been found safe and sound, the online edition of The Hollywood Reporter said Monday.

Police in the Chicago suburb of Wilmette told the online magazine that the artist has been located and that she was unharmed.

Still unknown is exactly where she was found.

A scant few hours ago the TMZ.com Web site reported that O’Connor was at an unknown location and might commit suicide.

According to the entertainment news site, the artist went for a spin on a bicycle around Wilmette Sunday morning and from then on nobody knew where she was.

Someone that knows her alerted police and the authorities, who then hunted for O’Connor in an operation they treated as a “possible suicide” and which included searches of places she could possibly have gone, like parks and beaches.

In November last year, O’Connor was hospitalized when police found her in a Dublin hotel after she had posted on her Facebook page a message saying she had tried to commit suicide.

Recently, O’Connor accused comedian Arsenio Hall of feeding drugs to the recently deceased artist Prince “over the decades.” Immediately afterwards, Hall filed a defamation suit against the Irish singer for $5 million.

During the 30 years of her musical career, Sinead O’Connor made many recordings and a handful of good songs, including her interpretation of “Nothing Compares 2U,” a number written by the late Prince, and with which she achieved worldwide fame in 1990.

She is also remembered for tearing up a photo of then-Pope John Paul II on a U.S. television network and for being ordained years later as the first priestess of the dissident Catholic order known as the Latin Tridentine Church. EFE
