Washington Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives are so consumed with impeaching President Donald Trump they really cannot see beyond their hate for this rogue president who goes about his presidency his own way – not their way – like no president before him.

Mainstream media – especially CNN – are straight out calling President Trump a “criminal” which further fuels the fires of impeachment. First the democratically controlled U.S. House must pass articles of impeachment based upon actual crimes. This process is similar to an indictment issued by a federal grand jury. If the House passes articles of impeachment against the president then the matter goes before the Republican controlled U.S. Senate.

In the Senate the president would be put on trial as they act as the jury with the Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court acting as the presiding judge. Then it takes a ‘super majority’ or at least 67 out of 100 senators voting to remove President Trump from office.

“Those in the House creating all the clamor today know very well that even if they could muster the House votes to bring articles of impeachment they stand about as much chance as a stray heifer in a field full of bulls in gaining a conviction in the Senate,” says Larry Lewis of Lexington, Ky — formerly from the hollers of Harlan County deep in Southeast Kentucky. “So all this is nothing more than grandstanding and wasting time and MONEY.”

The last time impeachment fever struck the U.S. Congress was back in December 1998 when former President Bill Clinton was impeached by the House which led to a trial in the Senate on two charges – perjury and obstruction of justice. Then in February, 1999 he was acquitted in the Senate. Clinton did not resign and served out the remainder of his second term in office, according to Wikipedia.

Before Clinton was former President Richard Nixon who became the first and only president to resign the presidency because impeachment was certain as was removal from office by the Senate so he quit. Before Nixon was former president Andrew Johnson way back in 1868 who was impeached in the House but acquitted in the Senate.

So it appears that history is doomed to repeat itself in the case of President Trump versus the Washington House Democrats. Come hell or high water, the Democrats want to impeach this president so bad they can taste it.

Last week FBI Special Counsel Robert Mueller gave a nationally broadcast 8-minute statement concerning shutting down the Special Counsel’s Office thereby bringing an end to the more than two-year investigation which he concluded that no collusion took place between Trump’s winning presidential campaign and Russian entities.

The question of obstruction of justice on the part of President Trump — Mueller left up to Congress to decide — so a rare case of highly contagious impeachment fever has struck the 435 members of the U.S. House of Representatives.

The only cure for impeachment fever is found in the voting booth with the removal of those that refuse to do real work for real Americans.
