Many of the roller coaster attractions at the Parque Nacional de Diversiones (National Amusement Park) in Costa Rica have already thrilled and entertained thousands of riders in other countries. Such is the case of Boomerang, a thrilling roller coaster designed and built by the dependable Dutch firm Vekoma.

Boomerang was rescued from Playcenter, a Brazilian amusement park located in the outskirts of the gargantuan metropolis of Sao Paulo. Sadly, Playcenter stopped operating after nearly 40 years, and many Brazilian fans hoped that Boomerang would be relocated within their country. Sadly for them, but to the advantage of Costa Rica, the National Amusement Park acquired Boomerang, which was shipped in various pieces during 2012.  Back then, The Costa Rica Star reported on the reaction of a young Brazilian girl upon learning that her favorite amusement ride would be leaving her country:

“Nooooo, I want my Boomerang back here in Brazil at Playcenter! What will become of me without my Boomerang?”

To the young Boomerang fan above we can say the following: Your favorite roller coaster is now in San Jose, Costa Rica, and it has been renamed to Búmeran, which is an Anglicism accepted by the Royal Spanish Academy. Furthermore, riders seem to be enjoying Búmeran, as you can see in the video below:
