Diehard fans of the hit television series Glee, which aired on the Fox network from 2009 to 2015, have recently taken to social media to investigate a possible cast member reunion happening in Costa Rica. Ostensibly, the reason for this impromptu reunion would be the marriage ceremony of one of Glee’s stars in Tamarindo Beach, a destination that is known to attract celebrity weddings.
Social media sleuths on Tumblr, Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram believe that Glee cast members could be in Tamarindo Beach for the wedding of Harry Shum Jr., a Hollywood actor who is originally from Costa Rica. The most comprehensive investigation thus far comes from Tumblr user tirpse, who explained:
After seeing a few tweets, talking to friends and looking at Instagram I have the very big suspicion that Harry Shum Jr got married or is getting married in Costa Rica. His fiancee posted about a bachelorette party recently, a friend of hers posted about a bridal shower on IG and Shelby being the bride.
Now a girl on Twitter says she met the cast of Glee in Costa Rica last night. She says she met Darren, Kevin, Jenna and Naya. We know Kevin is there because of a Snapchat pic. Lea also suspiciously posted beach pics yesterday.
John Lock, also from Glee, posted on IG yesterday with the location set to Costa Rica. And Jenna tweeted about flying somewhere 2 days ago. Added these. Thanks for pointing it out, Stacey.
Harry was born in Costa Rica so he probably has family there.
WHAT IF the cast is in Costa Rica for Harry’s wedding?
The Instagram post by musician John Lock that accompanies this article is a selfie taken against the backdrop of the tall palm trees that line Tamarindo Beach. On November 19th, Mr. Lock posted a Twitter update indicating that he was flying to Costa Rica. A day later, he posted the aforementioned Instagram picture, which reads: Palm Trees and Booze, Tamarindo, Costa Rica.
In a recent interview with Asia Society, Harry Shum Jr. was given the following short bio:
Born in Costa Rica, Shum relocated to San Francisco with his family when he was six years old and speaks Spanish and Cantonese. In 2015, he will appear in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend and has also been cast as Magnus Bane on the upcoming TV series Shadowhunters.
