In the midst of general labor strike that had the goal of paralyzing the country, the second cruise ship of the season docked at the Limon port with no problems; the Carnival Miracle, arrived with 2,031 passengers aboard originating from Tampa, Florida.

“We are supervising that the cruise activity carries out normally”, stated Marlon Clarke, Manager of the Atlantic Zone Development and Port Administration Group (JAPDEVA).

Commerce in the area organized to offer attention to the tourists that generally choose to visit the South Caribbean. It is estimated that in average each of these tourists invests close to $100.00 USD in the country, which is important for the local economy.

Officers of the Ministry of Public Security are present in the area to guarantee the normal operations of the institutions and prevent any problems in the area that could come from the labor strike movement.

Greivin Villegas, Executive President of JAPDEVA stated “we are committed to guaranteeing national and international commerce normal operations and the compliance with the work scheduled despite the strike movement announced in the national territory; our commitment is serious, and we are ready to operate 24 hours a day 7 days a week”.

This is just the second of a total of 110 ships that are scheduled to dock this year at the Hernán Garrón terminal in Limon for the cruise season 2018-2019 which began August 23 with the arrival of the Sea Princess.
