Metal fans asked for it, and Move Concerts decided to please them. The thrash metal band Slayer will be giving a concert in Costa Rica on May 1st, this is the second time they come to the country, the first time was back in 2011.

Slayer was formed in 1981 in California, and along with Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax it is one of the big thrash metal bands; it has received five Grammy nominations and won one in 2007 for the song “Eyes of the Insane” and another in 200 for “Final Six”.

The band will be presenting its show in the Coca-Cola Amphitheater of Parque Viva at 8 p.m.

The first time they gave a concert in Costa Rica the band’s drummer was still Dave Lombardo, but this time around the drummer is Paul Bostaph, he will be joining Tom Araya (vocals and bass), and guitar players Kerry King and Gary Holt, Holt came in to replace founding member Jeff Hanneman who passed away in 2013. This concert is part of the world tour that will also take the band to Chile and to the Festival Maximus in Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires, all these in charge of production company Move Concerts.

The last album released by Slayer was “Repentless” in 2015, their 12th studio album and the first one since the passing of Hanneman, and under the production of Terry Date.
