Prosecutors in Honduras have added two glamour models from Costa Rica to the list of defendants involved in a major scandal involving sex, drugs, money laundering, and the massive swindling of that country’s Social Security system.

 

According to a report published by La Tribuna, a national newspaper in Honduras, the names of the Costa Rican women have been revealed as María Vargas Somarribas and Fabiola Solórzano. La Tribuna published receipts of money transfers made to both glamour models, who ostensibly traveled to Honduras as highly-paid call girls. Two wire transfers in excess of US $4,000 were made by Gustavo Adolfo Linares Varela, a former manager of supplies and purchasing for the Social Security Institute of Honduras.

 

As previously reported by The Costa Rica Star in September 2014, an investigation by prosecutors and the news media of Honduras revealed that sexy escorts from Costa Rica and Chile were at the center of a financial scandal that was first detected when a en a beautiful and well-known model from Honduras was alleged to have swindled her country’s Social Security coffers in excess of $435,000.

 

When the above-mentioned investigation deepened, sordid details of orgies paid for with Social Security funds began to emerge, and the involvement of models from Costa Rica was mentioned; this is the first time, however, that their names have been revealed. Fabiola Solorzano is well-known in the lingerie show circuit of our country, and she is also known as a Rumberita –a cheerleader for Deportivo Saprissa football club, current First Division champion in Costa Rica.

 

As can be expected, the press in Honduras has been closely following this scandal, which has resulted in reports about the international “prepago” (a term for call girls in Latin America) circuit in that nation. It so happens that many women arrive in Honduras from Costa Rica, Colombia, Chile and other countries that have little visa requirements to enter the country.
