A Spanish tourist was found dead in a trail close to the landing strip in Tortuguero, Limon, Costa Rica.

The information was confirmed by the judiciary investigative police (OIJ), according to their report, the woman showed signs of strangulation, however, the forensic tests will have to determine the official cause of death.

Apparently, the woman was staying in a hotel close to this area, she decided to go for a walk following a nearby trail early this Saturday morning. When her husband noticed that she did not return, he went looking for her and found her dead.

The name and age of the victim has not been confirmed by the authorities, however, it has transcended that her last name was Gutierrez and she was 30-years-old; she was vacationing in the country along with her husband.

The case is under investigation.
