Starting this month, SYKES will offer 450 permanent technical support positions to applicants with advanced, intermediate, or basic knowledge of Cisco networks, operating systems, and programming. The company will be hiring from June through September. During the health crisis due to COVID-19, most positions will be work from home.

In addition to technological knowledge, applicants must demonstrate an English level equal to or greater than 85%. They must apply through the company’s website at www.SYKEScostarica.com, where they will upload their résumé and schedule any corresponding tests and interviews.

During the course of the announcement, the General Manager of SYKES explained that each new hire will receive a welcome bonus and additionally, the company will extend scholarships to new employees, so that they may take courses from the SYKES Tech Academy to obtain professional certifications in areas such as networks, software development, and cybersecurity.

In addition, he thanked the company for its important role in creating spaces where employees can grow professionally and enhance their human talent.

Dyalá Jiménez, Minister of Foreign Trade, commented that in recent years, Costa Rica has shown remarkable performance in the export of services, displaying between 2012 and 2019 an upward trend in growth, for an annual average of 6.3%. “This contributes not only to the diversification of our exportable offer but positions Costa Rica as a country more resilient to the ups and downs of the world economy,” she added.

For applicants who meet the requirements for technical expertise but not the English level, the company will also offer admission to the SYKES Tech Academy. The goal is to improve, over short cycles of one to two months, the applicants’ language skills sufficient to secure an offer of employment.
