As a commercial pilot and flight school instructor, Bruce Wayne (seriously) Wallis flew air passengers around the world for a major United States airline; however, when darkness set upon the Lone Star State, he became Bruno the Pimp, a prostitution impresario who managed a network of brothels in Houston.

According to a news report filed by Brian Rogers of the Houston Chronicle, Mr. Wallis has been charged by Texas prosecutors of operating various brothels and deriving proceeds off prostitution for years. Mr. Wallis is in his early 50s and has been recognized as an excellent pilot by his employer United Airlines, and the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration.

The investigation by Harris County prosecutors paints a sordid tale of guns, money and sex. Mr. Wallis was apparently not alone in this pandering endeavor; prosecutors also announced the arrest of a 37-year old woman who has been charged along with the pilot for reportedly helping him oversee his pimping empire.

Earlier this week, law enforcement agents conducted a series of coordinated raids in apartment complexes and office buildings across Houston, which purportedly served as brothels for the illicit enrichment of the pilot, who is believed to have been collecting a revenue of about $24,000 per week when not in the cockpit of United aircraft. In the raids, police arrested 18 women, many of them Russian, who allegedly sold their bodies for sex.

Guns and braggadocio played a part of Mr. Wallis’ life as a pimp. He carried a 9-mm pistol and drove a Hummer (seriously!) as he made rounds of his cathouses, and he once told one of his alleged prostitutes that he had “taken care” of a rival pimp. Upon raiding the pilot’s home in the suburbs, police found luxury vehicles and a stash of money and guns.

Even as he arranged sexual trysts for cash, Mr. Wallis attempted to cover up his illicit activities by placing the prostitutes on the payroll at his flight school.
