“Vacation in San Jose” – Enjoy the Fourth Art City Tour of the Year

If you want to discover San José in a fun and different way try the Art City Tour this Wednesday, July 10, the best of all, it is entirely FREE.

This edition of the Art City Tour, “Vacation in Chepe” (Chepe being the way Costa Ricans’ refer to the capital city of San Jose) will take participants to enjoy the cultural offer of San José and its surrounding areas. It will connect activities that take place in museums, cultural centers, historical buildings and open spaces in downtown San José and in the neighborhoods of Amón, Otoya, Escalante and Sabana.

The activity kicks off at 5 p.m. and extends through 9 p.m. and includes three different routes stops at the Museums of the Central Bank, the Art and Contemporary Design Museum, the Jade Museum, National Museum, Frecnh Alliance, Plaza de la Cultura (where sculptures of Costa Rican artist Jimenez Deredia are currently in exhibit), the Cultural Center of Spain, Heritage Center, among others.

Participants can choose to cover the route either by bus, bicycle or by foot. The route by bicycle goes out from “Parque España” at 7 p.m. it does not require reservation. The modality by foot includes four different options, a photography route, a historic route, mixology route (craft beer and history) and a nature and rituality route.
