Once again, Costa Rica will be represented this year in the annual Rose Parade that takes place every January 1st in Pasadena, California. This year the Municipal Band of Zarcero has the honor or representing the country and Latin America in this renown event.
In total, 250 young members directed by Elesban Rodríguez will be traveling to Pasadena California, “In Pasadena we want to showcase to the international community and the attending public that Costa Ricans are joyful and cheerful. We are proud of our culture, our music, our traditions, and this is the message we want to convey, that we are proud to be Costa Rican”, commented Rodríguez.
The band´s show is called “We are Costa Rica”. The band received the support of the Costa Rican Government and particularly the Ministry of Culture, the National Bank and the National Insurance Institute as well as the private sector with the sponsorship of companies such as Epson, Copa Airlines, Aeris, Armabloques Construction Sytems, Purdy Motor, among others.
The Rose Parade has already opened doors for the group of talented musicians who have received invitations to events in Colombia and Mexico.
Last year it was the The Municipal Band of Acosta that participated in the Rose Parade representing Costa Rica and Latin America as the only music band in the region to be invited to the event.
The Rose Parade will be broadcasted live at 10 a.m. Costa Rican time January 1st.
