A Web Series Will Showcase the Work of the Costa Rica Firefighters

Alarma: Bomberos de Costa Rica (Alarm: Costa Rica Firefighters) is the first web series in Costa Rica that showcases the work of the country’s Fire Department.

The web series will be aired starting Wednesday, December 6 at 7 p.m. through the webpage http://alarmacostarica.com/ and its corresponding You Tube channel; this first season involves a total of 8 episodes that have been on the works since 2016 and it’s the brainchild of director Steven Gil who wanted to show the day to day of the firefighters and the real emergencies that they have to attend to in the country.

It combines a reality show and stories about firefighters. We wanted to generated a project that was unique in the country. The production began a year and a half ago and we are very satisfied with the end product,” commented producer Luis Gabuardi .

Hector Chaves, general director of the Costa Rica Firefighters stated “For the Costa Rica Firefighters it is important that the population not only learns about the human part of this job and what the firemen live during the emergencies, but that they are informed and learn about basic prevention”, with this objective in mind, the series includes tutorials for people to learn how to prevent or act in an emergency situation.

The series has the support of the Film Center of the Ministry of Culture, the Costa Rica Film Commission and it was declared of cultural interest.

Trailer off voice: “Over 150 years of history, working 24 consecutive hours, to give their life in every call for help; answering to an emergency call every 5 minutes; in December of 2017 you will have the opportunity to live an encounter in which the discipline, the honor and the abnegation come together”
