Beyonce Knowles and Shawn Corey Carter, better known as Beyonce and Jay-Z (or hip-hop music’s ruling couple), were recently spotted in Costa Rica. Through official reports from the Directorate of Immigration we know that they landed at the Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport in Liberia (LIR). We also know that they arrived on a private jet for their vacation, which we can imagine is a typical mode of travel for this fabulous couple. What else where they up to in Costa Rica?

Through photographs posted on the Tumblr account of the lovely Beyonce, we know that the couple stayed at the Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo, where they arrived shortly after landing at LIR. They probably stayed at one of the residence estates such as Casa del Mar or Casa de la Luna. According to an article by Fiorella Valle of Primero en Noticias, an online news site out of Guanacaste, Jay-Z and his wife arrived at 10:19 pm on Saturday, November 23^rd and spent time exploring a couple of the beaches on Costa Rica’s Gold Coast.

Looking further into Beyonce’s Tumblr account, it is clear that the couple also visited Punta Islita in Nicoya and La Fortuna de San Carlos, province of Alajuela. There is an additional detail provided by Primero en Noticias, which has not yet been confirmed: Jay-Z and Beyonce reportedly are planning to purchase a mansion in La Fortuna. If so, this millionaire couple would join the list of celebrities who have chosen to acquire luxury real estate in Costa Rica.

In late 2011, the Costa Rica Star published Haciendas of the Rich and Famous, an article that was all about celebrity real estate in Costa Rica. Guanacaste featured prominently on that list, which includes Mel Gibson, tennis star Andre Agassi and AOL’s co-founder Steve Case.

Hollywood legend Harrison Ford was once rumored to have acquired a secretive estate at Playa Langosta, but this report has never been substantiated. What is known, however, is that other celebrity couples such as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have also vacationed in Guanacaste as well as pop singer Pink and her husband Carey Hart. Less celebrated couples such as reality TV’s Jon and Kate as well as Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have also visited the province, and let’s not forget about the recent visits by Matt Damon, Miley Cyrus and her ex Liam Hemsworth.
