Berlin, Oct. 4 — WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange said on Tuesday that his website will publish over the next few weeks significant documents about the U.S. election. The announcement comes on the 10th anniversary of the founding of WikiLeaks.
In a video broadcast from Berlin, Assange denied speculations that the documents are meant to hurt Democratic candidate, Hillary Clinton, as happened with several of the latest releases from WikiLeaks.
The Australian journalist said that his organization will begin to release previously unpublished information this week, and during the next 10 weeks it will reveal documents on policy issues relevant to the presidential elections in the United States.
Additionally, these publications will address other issues, such as the inner workings of “three powerful organizations in three different states,” and issues related to the oil and weapons sectors, as well as U.S. technology giant Google, Assange added.
The WikiLeaks founder noted that these new documents will reveal interesting aspects of some institutions and how they operate.
Although Assange avoided going into detail about these documents, he denied that they are seeking to destroy Clinton and spurned a question about whether he feels sympathy for her opponent Republican candidate, Donald Trump. EFE
