Teen Costa Rican writer Emily Pérez published her first novel in the United States under the title “Yesterday She Was Tiffany”.

The work, written for the 2015 edition of the National Novel Writing Month , a program that challenges writers around the world to write 50,000 words in the month of November.

Emily is 16 years old, the same age as the main character of her 288 page novel; “Yesterday She Was Tiffany” tells the story of Ophelia, a perfectionist girl with an impressive academic record who dreams of attending a prestigious university.

Synopsis:

Pérez lives in Chattanooga, Tennessee since she is nine years old, books are her passion, and her dream is attending Harvard. Among her favorite books she cites, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, To Kill a Mockingbird, Othello and Harry Potter.
